Shelley McConnell

Shelley McConnell is an academic with a significant background in political science and Latin American studies. Currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Government Department at St. Lawrence University since August 2009, Shelley previously held the position of Assistant Professor and coordinated the Caribbean and Latin American Studies program. Prior experience includes a role as Visiting Assistant Professor at Hamilton College from July 2007 to June 2009, where courses on comparative politics and Latin American politics were taught. Additionally, Shelley worked at The Carter Center from 1997 to 2007 as Senior Associate Director of the Americas Program, focusing on political developments and democracy promotion in Latin America and the Caribbean. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University and a BA in Political Science and Economics from Wellesley College.
