Aura Zuleta

Aura Zuleta is an experienced educator with a focus on language instruction, currently serving as a Spanish teacher at St. Louis Language Immersion Schools since August 2021, where responsibilities include teaching middle school Spanish and Social Studies. Previous experience includes a role as an exchange teacher at Beaufort County School District (August 2016 - July 2021), where Aura developed a comprehensive language acquisition curriculum for Spanish. Additionally, teaching roles spanned various institutions, including Colegio Calasanz Bogotá as a Secondary English as a Foreign Language teacher and Liceo Campo David as an English instructor, with a strong emphasis on curriculum development, student assessment, and utilizing diverse teaching strategies. Aura holds a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics of Spanish as a Foreign Language from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages from Universidad de La Salle.

Instructionally, SLLIS implements the Gomez and Gomez Dual Language Enrichment Model, which is a structured way to provide rigorous dual language instruction at the elementary level.
