Doug Wendland

Medical Director Occupational Medicine at St. Luke’s

Doug Wendland has extensive work experience in the field of occupational medicine. Doug served as the Medical Director of Occupational Medicine at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN from March 2004 onwards. In 2014, they joined the World Health Organization as the National Coordinator for Occupational Health & Safety. In this role, they evaluated health and safety hazards for WHO staff and consultants involved in the Ebola response and provided recommendations for risk reduction strategies. Doug facilitated the implementation of these strategies until April 2015.

Doug Wendland attended the Medical College of Wisconsin from 1999 to 2002, where they obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Occupational Medicine. Prior to that, they attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1971 to 1978, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Medical Doctor (MD) degree in Medical Clinical Sciences/Graduate Medical Studies.
