Frank Smith started their work experience in the United States Marine Corps, where they served as a Lance Corporal and gained experience as an armorer, explosives technician, and aircraft ordnance technician. After their military service, they joined the Kearny Police Department, starting as a patrolman and eventually rising to the rank of Lieutenant. During their time in the police department, they specialized in street supervision, undercover narcotics, and administrative duties. Following their retirement from the police department, they worked as an Operations Manager at Randolph Security, overseeing multiple sites and personnel management. Frank then transitioned to a role as a School Security officer at Hopatcong High School, where they implemented security measures to address disruptive student behavior. Subsequently, they served as the Director of Security Operations at Trump Plaza for several years, being promoted from a base security officer to Lieutenant and assuming the role of the unit's information officer. After leaving Trump Plaza, they held positions as a Lieutenant at The Loxahatchee Club, a Security Officer at St. Mark's Episcopal Church and School, and a Security Professional at Cambridge Security Services Corp. Currently, they are the Head of Security at St. Moritz Security Services, Inc.

Frank Smith USMC attended Jersey City State College from 1970 to 1976, where they studied Criminal Justice. In 1978, they obtained a Certificate in Criminal Investigation from the New Jersey State Police. In 1965 and 1966, they took engineering courses at The Johns Hopkins University, focusing on Mechanical Engineering. Frank completed their high school education at Kearny High School from 1955 to 1959. Additionally, Frank earned Certificates in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from the New Jersey Department of Labor.
