Mike Scott

Mike Scott is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in journalism and features writing. Currently serving as a Senior Communications Specialist at St. Tammany Health System since March 2020, Mike also contributes as a freelance features writer and columnist for THE TIMES-PICAYUNE | NEW ORLEANS ADVOCATE, where Mike authors columns on New Orleans history and movie reviews. Mike's previous roles include nearly two decades at The Times-Picayune, where Mike was a features writer, movie/TV critic, and weekend editor, notable for leading the "300 for 300" project celebrating the city's tricentennial. Additional experience includes copy editing and page design at the Houma Daily Courier and news reporting at The Lake City Reporter and The News-Banner. Mike holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of New Orleans.
