Mitra Gruwell is currently serving as the Community Engagement Coordinator at the Materials Exchange Center for Community Arts, focusing on upcycled arts instruction and sustainability initiatives. Mitra also contributes as the Fix-It Fair Coordinator for the Eugene Toolbox Project, facilitating events for free repairs within the community. As the Owner, Designer, and Educator at Discard Upcycling since March 2020, Mitra emphasizes creative reuse. Additional experience includes roles as Designer and Manager for Envia Fashion at St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County, Inc., and Producer for Eugene Fashion Week from 2008 to 2014, where annual fashion events showcased local designers. Previously, Mitra owned and managed clothing stores Deluxe and Kitsch at Bricolage LLC. Educationally, Mitra holds Bachelor's degrees in Anthropology and Religious Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder.
