Carren Jao

Carren Jao is an accomplished journalist and editor with extensive experience in multimedia storytelling and editorial strategy. Currently serving as a Senior Editor at Stacker since October 2022, Carren oversees national news coverage and collaborates with a diverse team of writers and data specialists on a variety of data-driven stories. Previous roles include Section Editor and Digital Producer at PBS SoCal | KCET, where Carren developed multi-platform content that significantly contributed to web traffic, and Lead Writer at KCET, focusing on urban issues related to the Los Angeles River. With a background as an Independent Journalist since 2008, Carren has honed skills in story development, interviewing, and multimedia production. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Arts Journalism from Syracuse University and a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Ateneo de Manila University.
