Sophie Haag

Sophie Haag is currently serving as Leiterin Fach- und Aufsichtsstelle Datenschutz and Datenschutzbeauftragte at Stadt Bern since February 2023. Previously, Sophie Haag held the position of Stv. Leiterin Direktionsbereich Datenschutz at Eidgenössischer Datenschutz- und Öffentlichkeitsbeauftragter EDÖB from 2017 to February 2023, and prior to that, led Team 3 Datenschutz at the same organization from 2010 to February 2023, also serving as Stv. Leiterin Einheit 1 and working as a Juristin/Rechtsanwältin. Sophie's career began at Kanton Aargau as Stv. Datenschutzbeauftragte from 2007 to December 2009, and included a role as Rechtsanwältin at a Rechtsanwaltskanzlei from 2005 to 2009. Sophie Haag earned a lic. iur. degree in Recht from the University of St.Gallen, completing studies from 1998 to 2004.
