Roy Chirdo has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Roy started their career at AT&T in 1965 as a Communications Technician and worked their way up to become a Director. At AT&T, they were responsible for switch engineering, implementation, network routing translations, and AMA Control Center. Roy also played a key role in the design and implementation of the National Telementary Network and Back-office WAN. Chirdo then joined AT&TLNS as the Director of Switch Engineering, where they fostered and implemented Network Access Security.
In 2000, Chirdo moved on to Global Crossing as the VP of Global Voice Services Engineering. Roy was responsible for leading the engineering efforts for global voice services. After Global Crossing, Chirdo worked at Eureka Networks as the VP of Switch Engineering and Operations, where they oversaw switch engineering and operations.
Chirdo's next role was at Infohighway Communications, where they served as the VP of Infrastructure Engineering, Operations, and Service Delivery. Roy was responsible for switch equipment engineering, network engineering and operations, and service provisioning. Roy also identified and implemented cost reduction projects and provided Tier II support to Customer Service and Sales.
In 2007, Chirdo joined M5 Networks, Inc as the VP of Carrier Services. Roy was responsible for leading the carrier services division. Then, in 2008, they joined Stage 2 Networks as the CTO.
Chirdo's most recent position was at Public Interest Network Services, where they served as the COO.
Overall, Chirdo has held various leadership roles throughout their career, demonstrating their expertise in telecom engineering, operations, and service delivery.
Roy Chirdo attended New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering from 1965 to 1973. Roy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering during this time.
