Francesco Sirci

Deputy Head Of Discovery at STALICLA

Francesco Sirci has had a diverse range of work experiences in the field of research and bioinformatics. Francesco started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Molecular Discovery Ltd., where they worked from January 2013 to September 2013. Francesco then moved on to Tigem, where they held the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow from October 2013 to December 2016. During their time at Tigem, Francesco focused on computational biology, bioinformatics, and chemoinformatics research for genetic diseases, particularly Cystic Fibrosis. Francesco conducted research on drug discovery and design, as well as the development of classification models to predict molecular drug candidate toxicity.

In 2017, Francesco joined IRB Barcelona as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Francesco held this position until May 2019, during which they also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher. At IRB Barcelona, Francesco continued their research in various areas, including transcriptomic analysis and system biology approaches.

Most recently, Francesco Sirci joined STALICLA in 2019 as Deputy Head of Discovery. Francesco'smain responsibility at STALICLA is to integrate and analyze large datasets of various types of data, such as transcriptomic and proteomic data, to identify patient subgroups and corresponding drug candidates for personalized medicine in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Francesco also works on pre-clinical hit/lead discovery and optimization.

Overall, Francesco Sirci's work experience demonstrates their expertise in bioinformatics, computational biology, drug discovery, and personalized medicine in various research settings.

Francesco Sirci completed their education in a chronological order starting with a Degree in Chemistry from Università degli Studi di Perugia in 2007. Francesco then pursued a Master's degree in Chemical Sciences, specializing in Organic Chemistry, from the same university from 2007 to 2009. After completing their Master's degree, Francesco Sirci enrolled at the Università degli Studi di Perugia again to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry, which they completed from 2009 to 2012. Furthermore, they gained practical experience in 2012 through an internship at the Pharma Chemistry Department of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam).
