John Potter

John Potter is an experienced professional with a long-standing career in trade finance and banking. Currently serving as Business Specialist Lead at Standard Bank Group since October 2021, John has effectively led a team in the design and implementation of an automated Signature Program for International Trade Products and FX Payments across 13 African countries, enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Prior to this role, John held various positions at Standard Bank South Africa, Barclays Bank PLC, and Standard Merchant Bank Limited, where significant contributions included the establishment of trade operations and management of critical trade finance processes. John began a career in banking at Standard Chartered Merchant Bank Zimbabwe as an L/C Supervisor, progressing through numerous roles to develop a solid foundation in trade services and corporate credit analysis. Education includes completion of "O" Levels at Chaplin High School in Gweru, Zimbabwe.
