Paul Thompson

Paul Thompson is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in the banking sector. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer and Finance Executive Head for Global Markets Financial Insights and Analytics at Standard Bank Group since August 2010, Paul oversees financial analysis and business insights, directly supporting strategic decision-making and driving forecasting and planning. Previously, Paul held the role of Head of Global Markets Product Control for Africa Regions, managing teams across multiple countries and ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet. Earlier career experience includes a position as Senior Fund Accountant at RAB Capital. Paul holds a CFA designation from The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts and a Bachelor's degree in Business/Commerce from Stellenbosch University.
