William (Bill) Blackie

William (Bill) Blackie has over two decades of extensive experience in the banking and finance sector, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Business and Commercial Clients at Standard Bank Group since February 1999. Previous roles at Standard Bank Group include Head of Investment Banking and Head of Corporate Finance in South Africa, showcasing expertise in corporate finance and investment banking. Bill began the career as an attorney after completing law and commerce degrees at Rhodes University, followed by a corporate finance role as a Corporate Finance Specialist. Education includes advanced management training at INSEAD, a Masterclass Certificate in Sustainable Finance and Climate Change from SOAS University of London, and a Digital Savvy Board Programme from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, along with an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
