Ángel Contreras

Ángel Contreras has a diverse and extensive work experience. Ángel currently holds the position of VP of Human Resources Corporate Services & LEAP at StandardAero since April 2023. Prior to that, Ángel worked as the Human Resources Director at StandardAero from October 2022 to April 2023.

Before joining StandardAero, Ángel served at Amazon as a Human Resources Executive - HRM from February 2021 to October 2022, and as a Human Resources Executive - Sr. HRBP from May 2020 to February 2021.

Ángel also gained valuable experience at GE Aviation where they held the role of Ex. Dir. Human Resources Leader from February 2018 to May 2020, and as a Sr. Employee HR Manager from July 2014 to February 2018.

Prior to their time at GE Aviation, Ángel worked as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Rockford School District from August 2012 to July 2014. Ángel also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Rockford University from November 2011 to June 2014.

In addition, Ángel worked at multiple companies including GE Aviation as a Director of Human Resources from November 2008 to August 2012, Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. as a Sr. Generalist HR from June 2007 to November 2008, Portola Packaging Inc. as an HR Manager from October 2006 to June 2007, OSI Industries LLC as a Human Resources Manager from July 2003 to 2006, and the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman from 1994 to 2002.

Ángel Contreras began their education at the University of Iowa, where they pursued a degree in Psychology. Ángel attended this institution from 1988 to 1993, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After a significant gap in their education, Ángel returned to academia in 2003, enrolling at Aurora University. During their time there, from 2003 to 2005, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Human Resources.
