Surya Gutta has worked in the technology industry for over two decades. In 2018, they became the Technical Director of Engineering at StandardC. Surya was also responsible for implementing many server side features such as caching algorithms and auto analysis of terabytes of data to find the issues. From 2000 to 2004, they were a Lead Engineer at HCL Technologies, where they worked on Electron Stimulated X-ray (ESX) and E-Beam based Wafer Inspection machines. Surya also did data analysis on the linear space within which the intensity of the X-rays, generated by the incident electron beam, is the highest and created many tools to assist in the alignment of X-ray Spectrometers using Java/J2EE & Python.

Surya Gutta received a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Bangalore University between 1994 and 1998. In 2018, they completed Harvard Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age from Harvard University. In 2019, they earned an AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). In 2021, they earned a Master of Information and Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, they hold certifications from Google, ISACA, IBM, Oracle, OMG, and Amazon Web Services.
