Steven Mai is an accomplished undergraduate researcher currently working at the Space Rendezvous Laboratory, focusing on machine-learning databases for asteroid characterization and closed-loop control for robotic arms in spacecraft simulations. Additionally, Steven is actively involved in the Stanford Student Space Initiative, serving in multiple engineering roles such as aerodynamic, avionics, and structural engineering, where contributions include designing a probe for Venus atmosphere and developing avionics for a high-altitude rocket. Previous experience includes engineering roles in solar airplane projects and balloon missions, along with internships in science communication and research at the U.S. Geological Survey. Steven is pursuing dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science at Stanford University.
