Lauren Simitz

Graduate Researcher - Combustion Diagnostics & Exoplanet Spectroscopy

Lauren Simitz is a BCA Propulsion Thermal Analysis Engineer at Boeing since June 2023, following extensive research and engineering experience at Stanford University, where Lauren is pursuing a PhD in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Lauren has held various roles including Graduate Researcher in Combustion Diagnostics and Exoplanet Spectroscopy, as well as in Hot Surface Ignition and Venus Temperature Sensor projects. Previous positions include internships at Benchmark Space Systems, SpaceX—where Lauren contributed as an Associate Starship Launch Engineer and Propulsion Engineering Intern—and Chevron, focusing on process engineering in refinery operations. Lauren holds a Master's degree in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering and Earth and Planetary Science from Northwestern University. Additionally, Lauren obtained a Business Certificate from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
