Benoit Pelourdeau has a diverse work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. Benoit is currently working as a Senior Mechanical Calculation Engineer at Stanley Robotics, where their responsibilities include specifying and managing measurement and data acquisition activities, building and updating specifications for various components and assemblies, conducting pre-analysis and pre-sizing calculations, modeling and simulating the behavior of parts based on defined constraints, overseeing sizing studies to ensure the proper functioning of the system throughout its lifecycle, ensuring product compliance with safety standards, and providing recommendations for improvements.
Before joining Stanley Robotics, Benoit worked at Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, where they held multiple roles. As a Referent for Gearbox Efficiency, they were responsible for calculating and analyzing the efficiency of gearboxes, managing calculations related to lubrication and gear shifting functions, and implementing a procedure for calculating efficiency through software correlation and scripts. Benoit also served as a Simulation Pilot for Gear Shifting, conducting finite element calculations and dynamic multi-body simulations for the gear shifting area and collaborating with parts designers for component sizing.
Prior to their work at Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, Benoit completed an internship at PSA Peugeot Citroën, where they focused on numerical calculations in aeroacoustics and turbulence applied to a vehicle, as well as computer-aided design using Catia V5 and ANSA.
Benoit also gained experience at SNCF as a Simulation Manager and at the Unité de Mécanique de l’ENSTA-ParisTech (UME) during their research internship.
Overall, Benoit has demonstrated expertise in mechanical calculation, simulation, and design in various industries, including robotics, automotive, and transportation.
Benoit Pelourdeau started their education in 2006 at Lycée Racine, where they obtained their Bac S degree. In 2006, they also attended Lycée Condorcet, where they pursued a Licentiate degree in Industrial Engineering until 2008. Later, Benoit attended ENSTA ParisTech from 2008 to 2011, where they earned their degree in Mécanique acoustique.
