Mike Schmittdiel

Mike Schmittdiel is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in product development and engineering management. As Chief Engineer for Lasers at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. since September 2016, Mike leads new product development strategies and oversees the Laser and LDM product portfolios. Previous roles at Stanley include Engineering Manager, where Mike managed the development of various tool categories and received multiple awards for innovation and leadership. Prior experience includes Engineering Manager at STX, LLC, Senior Project Engineer at Rainin Instrument LLC, and Chief Engineer of Design and Manufacturing at Cerex Environmental Services, Inc. Educational background includes a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
