Allison Schaefers is a journalist with over two decades of experience in the field. Allison currently holds the position of Waikiki Bureau Chief and business reporter at Honolulu Star-Advertiser, where Allison has been working since 2003. Prior to that, Allison worked as a staff writer at Florida Times Union from 2000 to 2002, and as a reporter and news editor at Camden County Tribune from 1992 to 2000. Allison obtained their ABJ in journalism from The University of Georgia in 1991 after completing their high school education at LaGrange High School.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser is the largest daily newspaper in the U.S. state of Hawaiʻi. It was formed from the merger of The Honolulu Advertiser and The Honolulu Star-Bulletin into a single entity June 7, 2010. It is the flagship product of Oahu Publications, Inc. which owns a diverse group of publications, including MidWeek, three militarypapers and various specialty publications, as well as luxury and hotel magazines. The Star-Advertiser is headquartered in Honolulu and it's state-of-the-art Roland offset printing press is housed in a 147,000 square-foot production and distribution facilities in Kapolei.
