Dr. Andy Rodriguez

Dr. Andy Rodriguez has a long and varied career in project management. In 1989, they began their professional career as the Director of Program Management at IHS, Inc. where they managed 40 executive managers, oversaw due diligence and integration project activities for corporate mergers and acquisitions, and developed corporate strategies to ensure and sustain growth. In 2008, they began teaching at Colorado Technical University as an Adjunct Professor, lecturing on the development and integration of project management processes in organizations. In 2009, they became a Strategic-Partner at Schooley Mitchell Telecom Consultants. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Consultant for Thyssenkrupp Robins and as a Contractor for IBM. In 2012, they began their role as Sr. Manager, Project Management - Operations at Cognizant - TriZetto Healthcare Products, where they developed sound project management methodologies, trained and mentored project managers, and oversaw their projects. In 2017, they became the Head of Corporate Security PMO at Cognizant, managing on-shore and off-shore dedicated project management resources and partnering with program owners and SMEs across Physical Security, Global Security, Cyber Security, Information Risk Management, and other cross-functional teams and stakeholders. In 2014, they became the Chairman of the Board at PMI Mile Hi Chapter. Most recently, in 2018, they founded and became the CEO of STAR, LLC, a MBE, DBE, and SBE certified company that provides Strategic & Technical Assistant Resources to organizations that require IT Security, Cyber Security and Project Management.

Dr. Andy Rodriguez has an extensive education background. Dr. Andy obtained their Ph.D. in Business, Organization and Management from Capella University in 2005. In 1997, they earned their MS in Computer Information Systems from Regis University. In 1989, they earned their BA in Computer Geology from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Dr. Andy also has an AS in Civil Drafting from Denver Institute of Technology, which they obtained between 1974 and 1975. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in 1999, a Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile in 2019, and a SAFe Agilist Certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2019.
