Gunay Ozkan is a seasoned software engineer with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Gunay started their career in 2001 as a Programmer at Acclaim Entertainment, Inc., where they developed low level CPU/GPU usage profiling systems, UI, Camera and Visual Effects Systems. In 2004, they joined Stormfront Studios as a Character Control and Gameplay Programmer, where they developed AI behavior and character control systems using Hierarchical State Machines and Push Down Automata. Gunay also made improvements to the AI pathfinding system to support dynamic environments, elevated platforms and hanging ledges. In 2006, they joined Sony Computer Entertainment Europe as an AI Programmer and worked on AI driving systems with both mathematical modeling and neural network approaches for Formula 1 and Wipeout games. Gunay also developed Physics Simulation, Character Control and Animation systems, and an HTN Style AI planning system for an action title prototype. In 2010, they joined Ubisoft as a Senior Gameplay/AI Programmer, where they developed the "Shift" feature for Driver: San Francisco. In 2013, they joined TRC Family Entertainment Limited as a Senior Game Developer. In 2014, they joined Armut as an Associate Director of Engineering, ML & AI, where they were the second programmer hire and built the mobile team and led the development of the iOS and Android apps. The iOS app was featured on the Best of 2017 list by Apple. In 2019, they joined Invicti Security as the Director of AI/ML, the world's leading provider of dynamic web application security solutions. In 2021, they co-founded Stardust Games, where they currently serve as the CTO.
Gunay Ozkan obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Hacettepe University between 1994 and 1999. Prior to this, they attended Bursa Anatolian High School from 1991 to 1994, and Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi ve Maarif Koleji from 1987 to 1991.
