Washea Jackson

Vice President Of Early Childhood Development at Starfish Family Services

Washea Jackson has extensive experience in the field of early childhood development. Washea is currently the Vice President of Early Childhood Development at Starfish Family Services, a position they have held since February 2021. Prior to this, Washea worked as an Early Childhood Consultant at HighScope Educational Research Foundation and L&L Consultants starting in July 2002. From August 2012 to June 2019, they served as the Director of Early Childhood at Oxford Schools. Washea has also held the position of Principal of KG School at Emirates School from June 2010 to 2011. Washea started their career as an Early Childhood Teacher at Detroit Public Schools in August 1997, and later became a Program Supervisor ECE from August 2009 to June 2010.

Washea Jackson has a strong education background with a focus on educational leadership and administration. Washea earned an Education Specialist Ed.S degree in Educational Leadership (Special Education) from Wayne State University, where they studied from 2008 to 2011. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Elementary, Middle and High School Administration/Principalship from Wayne State University, completing their studies from 1997 to 1999. Additionally, they have a certification as a HighScope Trainer (Infants, Toddlers & Pre-kindergartens) from the HighScope Research Foundation, which they obtained in 2002-2003. While completing this certification, they received training in various areas such as Early Childhood Education, Administration, Teaching, Mentoring, and Coaching.
