Krista Biggs

Adult Outreach Librarian at Stark County District Library

Krista Biggs has a diverse work experience in the library field. Krista started their career in 1994 as a Children's Library Assistant at the Louisville Free Public Library. Krista later worked as a Reference Library Assistant, Children's Librarian, and Assistant Branch Manager, gaining experience in various library roles. In 2005, they became the Branch Manager at the Westport Branch Library. In 2007, they joined EBSCO Information Services as a Readers' Advisory Librarian and Digital Content Editor, where they worked until 2020. In 2020, they transitioned to a role as a Library Manager at Galloway Ridge at Fearrington. In 2021, they worked as an English Second Language Instructor at Magic Ears, and in 2022, they joined Stark County District Library as an Adult Outreach Librarian.

Krista Biggs has an extensive education history. Krista obtained a Master of Science in Library Science from the University of Kentucky between 1996 and 1998, focusing on Library and Information Science. Before that, Krista pursued a Master of Arts in Teaching at Bellarmine University from 1990 to 1993, specializing in Education. Krista received their undergraduate education at Sweet Briar College from 1985 to 1989, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History.

In addition to their academic degrees, Krista Biggs has acquired several certifications. Krista obtained a 120-hour TEFL Certificate from the International Open Academy in December 2021 and a 120-hour TESOL Certificate Course from the same institution in April 2021. Furthermore, they obtained a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification from the TESOL International Association in March 2020.
