Kennedy Brandon Legler

Kennedy Brandon Legler currently serves as a Judge at the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court since December 2023, and holds the position of Professor in Social Sciences, specializing in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the State College of Florida-Manatee-Sarasota since January 2020. Additionally, Kennedy has been a Part-Time Legal Instructor for Law Enforcement Academy Recruits at the Sarasota County Technical Institute since January 2015. Prior to these roles, Kennedy served as the Felony Division Chief at the Office of the State Attorney for the 12th Judicial Circuit in Florida from October 2011 to December 2023, and was the District 1 Representative and Chair of the Sarasota County Charter Review Board from January 2020 to November 2023. Kennedy holds a Doctor of Law degree from Stetson University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Stetson University.
