Dr. Jennifer Dorsey

Dr. Jennifer Dorsey, PhD, serves as a Professor of History at Siena College, a position held since August 2008, where responsibilities include academic program development, fundraising, grants management, and team development. Dr. Dorsey also directs the McCormick Center for the Study of the American Revolution, which is supported by a $1.7 million endowment and focuses on community engagement and liberal learning. Previous academic roles include Assistant Professor of History at Arizona State University and Research Fellow for the Race & Slavery Petitions Project at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Dr. Dorsey obtained a PhD in Early American History, African American History, and Atlantic World from Georgetown University, a MA in Early American History, Legal History, and Atlantic World from Boston College, and a BA in History and Spanish from Emory University. Additionally, a Certificate in Non Profit Management & Leadership was earned from the University at Albany between 2014 and 2017.
