Sara W Longan

Sara W Longan is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in environmental policy, regulatory management, and academia. Currently serving as the Chief of Regulatory for the Pacific Ocean Division at the US Army Corps of Engineers, Longan has also held roles such as Deputy Chief and Acting Chief within the organization. Longan has significant experience within the State of Alaska's Department of Natural Resources in various capacities, including Deputy Commissioner and Executive Director, where responsibilities include coordinating oil and gas environmental policy and overseeing project permitting. In addition to government roles, Longan is an Associate Professor at Liberty University, teaching courses in public health, with a focus on Arctic research and the sustainability of indigenous populations. Longan holds a PhD in Epidemiology, along with an MS in Environmental Toxicology and a BS in Biology.
