Michael Washington

Michael Washington is a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience in both judicial and educational roles. Currently serving as a Superior Court Judge for the State of California since September 2013, Washington also hosts and founded the podcast "Brothers, Y’all Good?" in January 2025. A committed educator, Washington has been a faculty member at Lawyers Without Borders and the NITA National Institute of Trial Advocacy, teaching best practices in advocacy and trial skills. As the founder of the JustUs Partners Foundation from March 2019 to February 2024, Washington led efforts to support underserved communities through nonprofit initiatives. Previous roles include Deputy Public Defender in San Diego and adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law. Washington holds a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from San Diego State University.
