Luis Salaveria

Luis Salaveria is an accomplished finance and budget professional with extensive experience in both governmental and private sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Budget and Finance for the State of Hawaii since December 2022, Luis previously held the position of Senior Director of Government Affairs at SanHi Government Strategies, providing strategic support in government affairs and business planning. Luis's notable background includes roles such as Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism, and Deputy Director of Budget and Finance for the State of Hawaii, where Luis managed significant budgets and drove fiscal improvements resulting in a $1 billion turnaround. Additional experience encompasses positions at Kaiser Permanente, the Department of Defense, and Colliers International, along with valuable contributions to legislative budget development during early career roles. Luis holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
