Tara Williams

Tara Williams is an experienced professional in early childhood education, currently serving as the Associate Director of Early Care & Education for the State of Maine since January 2024. Prior to this role, Tara held various leadership positions, including Associate Director for Early Childhood at the Bipartisan Policy Center and Executive Director at the Maine Association for the Education of Young Children from 2017 to 2023. With a strong foundation in teaching, Tara has worked as an Infant, Toddler, and Preschool Teacher at Bowdoin College Children's Center, and has held teaching positions at Hope Community Charter School, Westminster School, and Kenilworth Elementary School. Education includes a Master of Science in Education Leadership from Bank Street College and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Boston University.
