Michael Howe

Michael Howe currently serves as the Secretary of State for the State of North Dakota since January 2023. With experience as a Managing Partner at Howe Seed Farms since December 2013, Michael has overseen operations at a company with a long-standing history in seed service and supplies. Michael previously held the position of State Legislator in the North Dakota House of Representatives from January 2017 to November 2022, after being elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. In 2013, Michael worked as the Director of Legislative Affairs and Communications Director for the ND Corn Growers Association, focusing on legislation affecting corn farmers. Prior roles in the U.S. House of Representatives included Legislative Assistant and Legislative Correspondent, where responsibilities ranged from monitoring federal farm policy to managing correspondence with constituents. Michael holds a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism and Mass Communications from North Dakota State University, earned between 2005 and 2010.
