Mark Wixon

Mark Wixon has significant experience in information technology and governance across various organizations. Currently serving as the Commissioner and Chief Information Officer for the State of South Dakota, Mark leads the Bureau of Information and Technology, supporting state agencies in their IT endeavors. Previously, Mark held positions at Black Hills Energy, including Senior Manager of Enterprise Security Governance & Risk Management, where responsibilities encompassed strategic planning and IT risk management. Mark also contributed to Black Hills Federal Credit Union as a Member of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Committee. An early career with the Air National Guard involved supply management for a civil engineering unit. Academically, Mark holds an MBA from the University of South Dakota and dual Bachelor's degrees in Business Management and Marketing from Northern State University.
