Erik Viel

Erik Viel is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in emergency communications and management. Currently serving as the Director of Emergency Communications for the State of Wisconsin since August 2019, Erik previously held the position of Director of Radio Services at the Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management from March 2015 to August 2019. Erik also served as the Informatics Manager for Milwaukee County Emergency Medical Services from 2010 to March 2015, overseeing the operations of the Emergency Medical Services Communication Center. Earlier in Erik's career, Erik worked as a Paramedic for Medix Ambulance from April 2003 to February 2011. Erik earned a Master's of Public Affairs in Public Policy and Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 2008 and 2010.
