Catherine Reaves has a diverse work experience. Catherine started their career as a Judicial Law Clerk for the State of Alabama 13th Judicial Circuit in August 2016 and continued until May 2017. Catherine then joined the Mobile County Commission as a District 2 Administrator in June 2017 and worked there until December 2021. In January 2022, they became the Associate Director of Governmental Relations at the University of South Alabama, where they served until September 2022. Currently, Catherine holds the position of Vice President, Policy & State Affairs at the Alabama Port Authority, starting from September 2022.
Catherine Reaves earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from Auburn University in 2009-2013. Catherine went on to attend Samford University from 2014-2016, where they obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. Catherine also studied law at the University of Arkansas School of Law, Fayetteville from 2013-2014. In terms of certifications, they completed the NACo High Performance Leadership Academy at the Professional Development Academy in 2018.

The Alabama State Port Authority owns and operates the public, deep-water port facilities at the Port of Mobile handling over 25 million tons of cargo annually. The Authority’s container, general cargo, heavy lift and bulk terminals have immediate and unencumbered access to two interstate systems, five Class 1 railroads, and nearly 15,000 miles of inland waterway connections.
