Mike Goonan

EVP, Client Executive Program at State Street

Mike Goonan is an executive vice president located in Boston as part of the Client Executive Program. In this role, he manages three of State Street’s largest and most complex global client relationships. Previously, Mike was responsible for a large part of the firm’s global operations, where he set strategic direction and provided managerial oversight for an organization that comprises 1,400 staff located in 11 locations around the world.

Mike has been with State Street for over 16 years and was previously within Investment Management Services at the firm’s Irvine, California office. He managed the global investment management operations outsourced by various clients including PIMCO, Lazard Asset Management, Wellington, Babson Capital Management and GIC. Mike began his career in securities processing in 1982 and has held senior management positions in sales, relationship management, trading and operations at Deutsche Bank, Clearstream, Yasuda Bank & Trust and J.P. Morgan. Mike spent several years living and working in England and Luxembourg.

Mike attended New York University and the University of Notre Dame and holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics.

Mike is a volunteer and member of the board of directors for Patient Airlift Services (PALS), which provides free flights for critically ill children and adults, veterans and their companions. He is also on the board of the YMCA Achievers Program of Greater Boston. This program provides critical support to low income and first generation students to help them complete post-secondary education.
