Mj Austin

MJ Austin serves as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Infrastructure Platform Engineering at State Street since June 2021, overseeing global platform engineering across compute, storage, middleware, and data platforms both on-premise and in the public cloud. Previously, MJ held various senior leadership roles at PayPal from August 2011 to June 2021, including Senior Director of Business Operations and Chief of Staff for Common Platforms, where management of a large engineering organization and substantial budget was key. Additional positions at PayPal included Head of Product Management and Head of System Qualities in Technology Infrastructure. Prior to PayPal, MJ was a Senior Director of Global Technology Operations at eBay, focusing on site operations and infrastructure health. Additionally, earlier roles at eBay included Director positions in Human Resources Business Partner, Operational Excellence, and Information Security. MJ holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and a bachelor’s degree from Smith College.
