Annmarie Hilton

AnnMarie Hilton is a seasoned journalist with a focus on education and state government reporting. Currently serving as a State Government Reporter at States Newsroom since September 2023, AnnMarie previously held positions as a K-12 Education Reporter at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK from October 2021 to September 2023, and as an Education Reporter at The Times of Northwest Indiana from May 2021 to October 2021. Experience includes roles at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK, the Better Government Association, Chicago Tribune Media Group, WBBM | CBS Chicago, and Retro Report, with notable contributions to a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation into fatal fires in Chicago. AnnMarie holds a Master’s degree in Social Justice and Investigative Journalism, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Linguistics, both from Northwestern University.
