McKenzie Romero currently serves as the Editor-in-chief for the Utah division of States Newsroom, a position held since November 2023. Prior to this role, McKenzie spent over a decade at Deseret News, where responsibilities included Assistant Managing Editor, Deputy News Director, and Reporter, along with an internship. Previous experience also includes an internship at Hispanic Link News Service and serving as Managing Director at SUU News. McKenzie began a journalism career at University Journal, holding the positions of Editor-in-chief and Editor from 2005 to 2009. McKenzie holds a BA in Communication (Journalism) and a BA in Spanish Language and Literature, both degrees from Southern Utah University.
