Colin Schimmelfing

Colin Schimmelfing is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and environmental science. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Station A since February 2023, Colin previously founded Takeoff Solar, a consulting firm focused on improving generator interconnection queues. Notable past roles include Software Engineering Manager at Flatiron Health, where Colin led a team supporting a medical billing SaaS product, and Co-Founder of Mask Match, providing support during the COVID-19 pandemic. Colin also contributed as a Data Manager for the Texas Democratic Party, creating impactful data analytics systems, and held engineering and managerial positions at Clever Inc., Quantcast, and Detica. Educationally, Colin holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at UC Santa Barbara and a dual BA in Computer Science and Astrophysics from Swarthmore College.
