Are Loftesnes has worked for Statkraft since 2020, starting as a CSIRT Analyst and later transitioning to the role of CSIRT Security Operations Lead. Prior to joining Statkraft, Are worked at NTT Security as a Security Analyst from 2012 to 2020.

Are Loftesnes attended the University of Agder (UiA) from 2007 to 2010, where they studied Informasjonsteknologi. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the following: GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) from GIAC Certifications in February 2023; Cybersecurity Foundations, IT Security Foundations: Operating System Security, Implementing an Information Security Program, Penetration Testing Essential Training, PowerShell 5 Essential Training, and SAP ERP Essential Training from LinkedIn, all obtained in June 2020.
