João Schmidt

João Schmidt is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in business development within the renewable energy sector. Currently serving as the Head of Business Development at Statkraft since September 2022, João previously held the same position at Iberdrola Renovables, focusing on significant solar and wind projects in Portugal. Prior roles include Business Development Manager at Jenner Renewables and Wind to Power System, as well as Project Manager for CTT. With a foundation in commercial operations and project management at CENER and Compañía General de Carbones, João has also been instrumental in founding Sociedade Agrícola Tapada do Castanheiro. Educational qualifications include an Executive MBA from IE Business School and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Sustainable Energy Systems from Instituto Superior Técnico.
