Amanda Hughes

Amanda Hughes is an experienced professional in the field of methodology and data analysis, currently serving as Principal Methodologist at Stats NZ since June 2022. Previously, Amanda worked as Principal Analyst at WorkSafe New Zealand from September 2019 to May 2022, and as Senior Data Scientist at Nicholson Consulting between January 2018 and September 2019, contributing to a transformation project at the Accident Compensation Corporation. Earlier roles include Analyst at the Pharmaceutical Management Agency, where Amanda was involved in forecasting an $850M combined pharmaceutical budget, and Statistical Analyst at Statistics New Zealand, focusing on methodological support for surveys. Amanda also has teaching experience as an Assistant de Langue in France and as a tutor at the University of Canterbury. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Statistics from the University of Oxford and two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Canterbury.
