Paul Brown

Paul Brown is a seasoned statistician with extensive experience in statistical analysis and monitoring. Currently serving as Principal Statistician at Statistics New Zealand since 2008, Paul previously held the position of Group Director Analysis & Monitoring at the New Zealand Public Health Commission from January 1993 to December 1995. Earlier in his career, Paul was the Director of Social Statistics at the Department of Statistics in New Zealand from 1984 to 1987. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Mathematical Statistics and Probability, as well as Sociology from the University of Canterbury and Victoria University of Wellington, and completed secondary education at Hawera High School.
