Tia Warbrick

As General Manager of Te Tohu, Tia leads their Māori Partnerships & Engagement, Strategy, Design, Insights and Advisory teams which support the organisation to deliver for and with Māori, iwi and hapū.

Delivering for and with Māori, iwi, and hapū confirms Stat NZ’s commitment to build enduring relationships with iwi Māori and develop the infrastructure, capabilities and resources required to work with Māori data appropriately as part of their core business. Transforming the organisation to become a capable and confident Tiriti partner is a critical element to delivering this priority; and forms the foundation for how the organisation works differently to achieve their vision of a safe, inclusive, and efficient ecosystem.

Tia joined Stats NZ in 2021, before which she jointly led a consulting company providing focused support across the public and private sectors. She has worked in many organizations, but rates her work through the establishment of Te Arawhiti and the Government’s Māori engagement approach as one of her most valued experiences. Tia’s passion is strengthening Māori Crown Relations and supporting Māori well-being priorities to ensure more equitable outcomes for their Te Tiriti partners.
