Ella Shaw Neyland

Ella has served as STAR’s President and CFO since STAR’s internalization on September 1, 2020. Prior to that, she served as President for all three of the Steadfast sponsored REITs since joining Steadfast in the fall of 2012. In 2011 she was the Audit Chair for the first Steadfast REIT and is still a member of STAR’s board of directors.

Ella has spent most of her 40 plus year career in the apartment industry working for Investment Banks, Commercial Banks, Publicly Traded REITs, and apartment developers. She is a big believer that apartments are the best type of real estate investment.

She has served on the executive teams for UDR, Lincoln Property Company, and CIBC. She is also active in apartment and industry associations and, in fact, was the first female chair in the 33-year history of the IPA, which is the trade association for Non-Traded REITs.

Ella graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a BS in Finance. Ella loves to walk her dogs on the beach and spend time with her family.
