Mercedes O'Bannion

Mercedes O'Bannion has a varied work experience, beginning in 2009 when they worked as a Costume Seamstress at Arizona State University. In 2011, they were an Assistant Costume Shop Coordinator at Mesa Community College. From 2013-2016, they were a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, where they taught undergraduate theatre majors an introduction to costume technology. In 2016, they worked as a Buyer at Uptown Cheapskate, where they greeted potential vendors and provided friendly customer service. From 2017-2018, they were employed at Freedom Suite Services as the Director of Marketing, where they were the Digital Marketing Team Lead and Project Manager for the creation and branding of two B2B websites. Finally, from 2018-present, they have been employed at Steady, where they have held the roles of Senior Director of Customer Marketing, Director of Growth, Retention & Engagement, Senior Growth Manager, and Growth Manager.

Mercedes O'Bannion's educational history includes a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) from The University of Texas at Austin in Costume Design from 2012 to 2015, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Arizona State University in Theatre Design & Production from 2009 to 2011, and Theatre Design courses from Mesa Community College from 2006 to 2009.
