Alwyn Jones

Alwyn Jones has a long and varied work experience. Alwyn began their career in 1998 as an Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Salomon Smith Barney Holdings Inc. Alwyn then moved to Fox-Pitt, Kelton in 2001 as an Associate in Corporate Finance. In 2004, they became a Corporate Financier at Peel Hunt. In 2005, they were a Partner at London Business School's Summer Consulting. In 2006, they joined Bain & Company as a Consultant and Case Team Leader. From 2011 to 2015, they worked at Barclays in various roles, including Head of Retail International Clients, Head of Consumer Lending, Business Development Director, Head of Group Strategy, Head of Strategy, and Deputy Head of Retail and Business Banking Strategy. From 2018 to 2021, they were the Group Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Monzo Bank, where they scaled the business from 1m to 5m customers and generated 40x revenue and 25x asset growth. Alwyn also raised more than £400m in equity and debt funding, including leading the initial subordinated Tier 2 offering for the bank. In 2021, they joined Luno as the Group Chief Financial Officer and in 2022 they became a Non Executive Director at SteadyPay.

Alwyn Jones received their MA in PPE from the University of Oxford in 1998. In 2004, they completed their MBA (with Distinction) from the London Business School with a dual concentration in Strategy & International Management and Entrepreneurship.
