Michael Orton

Michael Orton has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Michael is currently the Chief Operating Officer at a stealth mode AI startup since April 2023. Prior to this, they were the Director of Computer Forensics NZ & Data Recovery Australia from November 2020 to April 2023. Michael also worked at IMD Media Limited, where they served as the New Zealand Director, Peach Video Chief Scientist from July 2019 to November 2020 and as the Director of Broadcast Technology & New Zealand Country Manager from January 2013 to November 2020. Before that, they were the New Zealand Country Director and Chief Scientist at Peach from April 2007 to November 2020. In addition, they worked as the Chief Operating Officer at eBUS Limited from April 2007 to January 2013 and as the Chief Technologist at Silverscreen/Oktobor from August 2004 to November 2006. Michael also gained experience as a consultant at Weird Science Inc., MTI Film / Mathematical Technologies, and 525 Studios. Michael started their career as the Chief Engineer at Pacific Ocean Post (POP) in 1999.

Michael Orton holds a M.A. in Natural Science (Physics) from the University of Oxford. Michael pursued this degree at an undisclosed time. In 1999, they commenced their MBA in Entrepreneurship at the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, which they completed in 2004.
