Michael Cox

Michael Cox possesses extensive experience in the field of claims and shipping litigation, currently serving as Syndicate Associate Claims at Steamship Insurance Management Services Ltd since March 2020. Prior to this role, Michael held the position of Senior Claims Director at Thomas Miller Defence Limited from January 2012 to March 2020, and served as a Senior Associate at West of England Insurance Services (Luxembourg) SA for fourteen years, where involvement included handling liability claims for European, Middle Eastern, and North African ship owners. Michael's career began in the shipping litigation department at Hill Dickinson LLP, working as an Associate from September 1986 to December 1997, focusing on collision, salvage work, cargo damage claims, and charter party disputes. Michael holds an MA (Hons) in Mediaeval History from the University of St Andrews, completed in 1984, and studied at the College of Law at Chancery Lane from 1984 to 1986.
