In 2014, Ian worked as a Matchday Summariser & Pundit at Rondo Media. Ian also has experience as a Manager & Assistant Manager at Aberystwyth Town FC from 2010 to 2016. Before that, they served as an Assistant Manager and Academy Director at Llangefni Town FC. Ian started their coaching career as an Academy Coach at Wrexham FC from 2006 to 2009. Also, they worked as an Active Young People Officer at Isle of Anglesey County Council from 2006 to 2009.
Ian Hughes attended Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern from 1995 to 2000 for their secondary education. Following that, they enrolled in Coleg Menai from 2000 to 2002 to pursue Sports Science, although no degree was specified. Ian furthered their education at Bangor University from 2002 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Sports Science.
